Secret Santa came to Greerton

Today we had secret Santa come and give us all presents it was really good😊

Rodger dressed as Santa and helped pass out the prezzies 🎁 We all had lots of laughter and smiles from all! Thanks to everyone it was great.

Paradise Valley

I had great fun with my friends at Paradise Valley Springs & Wildlife Park.  We walked around the park and looked at all the animals and even got to feed some.

Sewing

This is the cushion I have made in sewing I really like the bright colours.

Thanksgiving

Last week I ate turkey with cranberry sauce, spuds, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie. It was yummy. I learnt about the first American thanksgiving.

I enjoyed having my hair washed and styled in Girls Group. I look ready to go out on the town!.

Veggie Soup

I had fun with my friends making Veggie Soup on Monday. I helped to pull all the silverbeet off the stalks and crushing the oxo cube.

Cooking

I am having great fun making Cheese Ball with my friends in the cooking group.

Wearable Arts

I have been working hard on making various flowers for a group project during Wearable Arts sessions. I really like this butterfly I made. I also planned a cool gift for My mum Margaret for Christmas... but that will be a surprise... =)

Pampering

I enjoyed getting my hair styled in girls group and chose to have my nails painted pink!

Farm Visit

On Tuesday I got to go with my friends to Matamata to visit on a farm. I got to feed an orphan lamb called Bobby, pat the farm dogs, pet the baby calves in the cattle shed, see the milking shed and drive over to see the horses and pigs. I had a great time and can't wait to go again.

My Heart

In sewing I have been cross stitching a lovely heart. I finally finished it and was so happy with how it turned out. I mounted the heart onto a hand made card I made in arts and crafts and have taken it home to put in my room.

Aromatherapy and pampering

I had a lovely time in girls group. we had an aromatherapy and pampering day. I had a hand soak with lemon and rosemary infused into the warm water. I then had my nails done in a shimmery gold. My favourite part was having a foot spa with essential oils infused into it. we had relaxing music playing and an oil burner with scented soil melts. how lovely!

 

My handbag

I did a fantastic job making a handbag in my sewing session. I liked the striped navy and white fabric with a bit of stretch in it and made a flower with fabric I picked to match. Groovy huh!

My birthday!

it was my birthday last Friday. My friends made me a delicious chocolate log with jam and cream inside, YUM. I had a lovely day and had my hair cut, I was keen to show it off.

high tea

I enjoyed our high tea we had in girls group.

Pottery

Today I tidied up my little box.It has a lid and I stuck the handle on with slip today.....I mixed the clay and water to make the sticky slip,it works like glue.

cooking

I have made a few really nice things in cooking lately, last week we made trail mix with cereal, nuts and seeds and this week we made tasty cheese and bacon scones. yum!! its cool to learn easy recipes I can make at home.

Country Music singers

On Monday we had some country and western singers visit our centre, I loved hearing them perform songs for us, some I knew!! it was really cool.

guide dog visit

A wee while ago we were very lucky to be visited by the guide dog puppies and their trainers. I learnt all about what it takes to train a dog to help to look after the blind. I had some lovely cuddles with the puppies, they were so cute.

My makeover and Photoshoot

One of my goals was to make a hair fascinatior, make a necklace and have a make over for a photo shoot in girls group. Don't I look gorgeous! I had a huge smile on my face when everyone was telling me how lovely I looked.

sponge painting

I had  a fun time in mixed media art cutting out stencils with cardboard and then using a sponge to paint inside them. I did such a good job.

A busy afternoon painting my heart dish a pretty pale orange and mixing a clear glaze to pour over it.Then it's off to Bethlehem Pottery club to be fired.
